This shows a very healthy market with nearly twice as many homes sold as newly listed for sale. We need listings in Indio,California. It looks like people are realizing what a great value homes are right now in Indio, California. This is very good news for both buyers and sellers.

The homes contingent, pending, sold just about balance the listings activated during the past week. These homes are in all price points and the highest was $5,990,000. It shows a good balance in the market to have 50 homes listed in a week where 47 were pending or sold. This is a good sign that we will have a storng season coming soon as this is historically our slowest time of the year for listings and sales.

Reseeding in La Quinta,Ca.

Each year in October, the reseeding of the grass is done on homes, common areas, and golf courses. Unlike many areas of the United States, where the grass is dormant and brown for several months, here in the green desert we reseed twice a year. It is amazing to watch the change from dull and drab to lush green and lots of color with flowers. It looks like springtime within a few weeks. November is our springtime and so beautiful here. Our area comes alive with lots of snowbirds and seasonal residents, the golf courses reopen, and activities and events are everywhere. It is truly paradise in so many ways.

The Grand Opening and Dedication of the La Quinta Fire Station #32 and Phase I of the Corporate Yard will be on Saturday October 23 at 11 AM and the Fire Station located at Avenue 52 and Desert Club Drive. The LaQuinta Fire Station #32 is a new 7500 square foor facility that replaces a nearly 50 year old structure. the new facility with speed response time to the La Quinta Cove and central La Quinta. The project was completed by 13 local . The building is energy efficient with insulated skylights, photo voltaic solar panels, low water use landscaping, and recycled content finish materials. Improvements to the La Quinta city yard will increase efficiency for maintenance services. Check out this beautiful new building near Old Town La Quinta.

We all know it is not just about working hard. We have to have a plan, good marketing, good skills, diligent , and then inspired action to get people to make offers and buy or rent a house. The market is constantly changing and we do too. We have to be flexible, good attitude of gratitude, enthusiastic, positive, honest. Most of all we have to put in the time. The agents I see who consistently succeed in any market at all times are the ones who always answer their phone, stay in touch with their clients, family and friends, have a passion for real estate, and keep on going no matter what.

Leanna is a good example. She walked into the office when I arrived at 7 AM this morning. She is attending our weekly meeting and then showing homes to 2 clients today- our hottest day of the year so far- 114+ plus 65% dewpoint. Then she is have 6 clients to dinner tonight at her house and she is doing the cooking and cleaning up for them. She is a sweetheart- always nice and cheery. She does love real estate and she loves people too. She always has her phone and answers the phone. Her success speaks for itself. No matter what time of year or whatever the market is doing, she keeps doing better and better. It is not about the market. It is about Leanna. She is a wonderful person, an attitude of gratitude and keeps on going.

Let us all be like Leanna. Our life will be good. We will have fun. We will make money too.

1. Caulk exterior joints around windows and doors to lower cooling bills

2. Clean lint from the entire clothes dryer vent system, from the dryer to the exterior vent cap. Lint is flammable and poses a fire risk.

3. Repair cracks in concrete patios and driveways. For cracks less than 1/4" wide, apply concrete caulk. For larger cracks, use concrete patch for caulk.

4. Wash the exterior of your house using ordinary garden-hose pressure and a mild detergent.

5. Clean and seal your porch or deck.

All of these are important in an area like La Quinta, California, known for extreme heat during the summer months and sun about 360 days a year.

La Quinta, California Golf Cart Permits Available at City Hall

If you see golf carts drving on the streets, you must be in La Quinta! The City of La Quinta started issuing golf cart permits on May 20, 2010. Residents with golf carts registered with the City of La Quinta are allowed to drive their golf carts to golf at SilverRock Resort, eat and shop in Old Town La Quinta village, relax at The La Quinta resort, and visit friends in La Quinta Cove.

There are 2 types of routes currently available:

On street golf cart lanes wher the golf carts travel in their own lane separated from vehicles. Portions of Avenue 52, Eisenhower Drive, Calle Tampico, and Park Avenue are designated for this type of use.

Streets in the Cove area and Old Town La Quinta village hare marked and designated for golf carts and the speed does not exceed 25 mph.

Some of the basic requirements are windshield wipers, turn signals, head lights, brake lights, and designe to carry no more than 2 people including the driver.

Permits are issues at City Hall La Quinta for $20 after completing a golf cart inspection and application.

This is actually a newer area, not an "old town La Quinta." The area is off Washington in La Quinta between Calle Tampico and Avenue La Fonda. It feautures The Lori Bowers Group Paradise Properties real estate office and 3 other real estate offices, a very popular coffe shop, a store for home gifts and specialties, a woman's and men's specialty clothing store, several restaurants including a wine bar, Viva Mexican, Devane's Italian, Hog's Breath Kaiser Restaurant, Stuft Pizza, and an ice cream and gelato store. Several doctor's offcies, attorneys, dentists, and hair salons and a few other businesses complete the center. What a fun place to walk and browse. Several events are held weekly and throughout the year including a Famer's Market, Art Shows, Concerts, and even Movies Under the Stars. The Lori Bowers Group Paradise Properties won the window decorating contest for the Holidays 2009.

This is a fun and beautiful center- a real asset to the City of La Quinta.
